Welcome to the National Network of Collegiate Women’s Leadership Programs’ (NNCWLP) homepage.
The NNCWLP was created by the Women In Learning and Leadership Program at The College of New Jersey in order to connect WILL programs and WILL sister programs across the countryThe Network is comprised of two components – this webpage and a national listserv. The webpage serves as a home base with information about all of the programs in the network. The listserv provides an easy way for the programs in the network to stay in contact and share information.
Below are details for each of the collegiate programs in the NNCWLP and contact information if you are interested in joining the Network or starting a women’s leadership program on your campus.
What makes a collegiate women’s leaders program?
Collegiate women’s leadership programs use a three-pronged approach*
- women, gender, and sexuality studies related coursework
- student-run leadership development organization
- women and gender related programming outside of the classroom
Overarching goals of collegiate women’s leadership programs*
- To encourage critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and problem solving skills that empower women as leaders
- To foster a deeper understanding of women’s diverse roles and contributions to society as well as gender and its intersections with race, culture, class, sexuality and other aspects of social identity
- To increase awareness of inequalities and of individual and collective strategies to address these inequities
- To nurture students’ self-awareness, self-confidence and personal growth
- To provide opportunities for women to explore career and life choices
- To connect students with one another, and to a strong and supportive network of faculty, staff and community mentors
* Based on combined information from the University of Richmond and The College of New Jersey’s WILL programs.
