WILL performed their annual production of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” this past weekend. The monologues are based on a series of interviews conducted by Ensler with hundreds of real women in the mid 1990’s. Each year, a new monologue is added to reflect current issues that women face around the world. The play is both humorous and somber, and seeks to expose violence against women and to give women a voice in matters where they normally have none. As such, topics of the monologues include menstruation, gynecological exams, sexual intercourse, hair and shaving, clothing, sexual violence, “discovering” one’s own vagina, and more.
WILL performed the play over three days, and proceeds went towards women’s charities WomanSpace and Pronica. Thank you to all of our performers and directors, and to everyone who attended to watch the show! Be sure to catch us next year.
